18th Corn Festival

The 18th Corn Festival took place in Gornji Andrijevci, officially marking the start of August in the Municipality of Sibin. This traditional event is part of the broader 'Summer in Sibin' programme, which brings together the local community and visitors through various events.

The Corn Festival is the longest-standing event in Gornji Andrijan, taking place annually on 1 August. Its aim is to blend cultural heritage with local cuisine and entertainment, preserving local traditions and promoting local identity.

The programme featured performances by folk groups, showcasing rich cultural heritage. Alongside musical and dance performances, visitors enjoyed a rich lottery, which was an integral part of the evening programme and contributed to the pleasant atmosphere among those gathered.

The culinary offering focused on local specialities, with fresh boiled corn taking centre stage. This simple yet traditional food is a symbol of the festival and attracts lovers of authentic flavours.

The evening concluded with an energetic performance by the band TS Žeteoce, providing a lively finale to the event. The Corn Festival thus reaffirms its role as an important cultural event that bridges generations and strengthens the community.
