In conjunction with the traditional celebration of St Simeon, which takes place on 7 August on the day of the parish church dedicated to St Simeon, Pribić is preparing a rich cultural programme. Pribić Encounters, an event that has been running for 48 years, will bring together local residents, people from surrounding areas, and members of the Pribić community living abroad for a two-day sports and entertainment event.

The organiser, Pribić Football Club, has scheduled the activities over two days on its pitch. On Saturday, 8 August, at 14:00, the tournament of the local villages will begin. The competition is reserved exclusively for the local villages and hamlets, or rather, their residents and people with roots in those areas.

Following the conclusion of the sports competitions, the evening will feature musical entertainment with a performance by the band Hrvatska Fortuna. The organisers have prepared a raffle with valuable prizes, including a summer weekend, a year’s subscription to satellite television, and carpentry services.

The programme continues on Sunday, when from 15:00 the traditional rural games will take place. These traditional disciplines include wheelbarrow races, bridge wrestling, sack races, egg-carrying races, rope pulling, beer drinking, and wheelbarrow racing.

The final part of the event will feature musical performances by the band Prestige and the duo Robi and Prco, bringing to a close another edition of one of the oldest and most popular events in this part of Croatia.
