A man of music, dance, gastronomy and rich cultural heritage has begun in Vodnjan. Visitors are expected to encounter a diverse programme filled with traditional dances, music and poetry.
The event brings together many participants and associations who, through their performances, will present a part of the cultural identity of the communities living in the Vodnjan area. The aim is to bring the richness of diversity closer through song, dance, gastronomy and socialising, and to remind people of the value of traditions that are nurtured and preserved thanks to people passing them on to new generations.
The programme opened with a ceremonial part, after which performances by the Waterman's Band, the Naša Djeca Association of Vodnjan and the KUD Vodnjan followed. A special part of the programme features representatives of the Serbian and Bosniak communities.
The Serbian National Council of Vodnjan, the Bosnian Association of Istria and the Bosnian Dramatic Association will contribute to the event, presenting a part of their cultural tradition through music, dance and stage performances. The audience will also witness the performance of the women's choir YamanHane, and the evening will be rounded off with a performance by the Tri Bura.
