Melina Kočmar, a fourth-grade student at the local school in Otočna, a settlement in the municipality of Gola, successfully presented herself at the Choir of Little Poets, part of the Days of the Kajkavian Word in Zlatar.

281 poems from 51 schools were submitted in response to the call for submissions for poems by students from the Kajkavian linguistic area. The judging panel consisted of teachers Željka Horvat Vukelja, Ivana Tomorad, and Božica Brkan. The commission selected 61 authors from 45 schools for performance, and Melita Kočmar was among those selected and invited.

Melina Kočmar was entered into the competition by her teacher, Sanja Solić. Melina performed her poem Sused's Little Bird, reciting the verses herself to the audience in the opulent hall, the Zlatar Sokolana. Her poem was the only one selected from her county.

The young poets all recited their own verses in traditional costumes of their region. Teacher Sanja Solić stated that they were even more proud of Melina's successful performance, congratulating her on the poem and the successful performance.
