A poetry gathering titled "Hommage Vesni Parun" will be held in Stubičke Toplice this Sunday, 25 October. The event is dedicated to one of the most significant Croatian poets and will begin at 11:00 at Hotel Wrello.
The day of the gathering marks the 16th anniversary of Vesna Parun's death; she passed away on 25 October 2010 in Stubičke Toplice. The poet spent the last 10 years of her life in Stubaki, making her connection with the area a permanent feature of her biography.
The programme includes an interpretation of her verses, to be performed by the poets of Stubičke Toplice. In addition, local poets will present their own original works, continuing the event as a space for nurturing contemporary poetic expression.
The gathering is conceived as an opportunity to reflect on the poet's life and literary legacy, as well as her special connection with Stubičke Toplice. The organiser of the meeting is the association "Modus Vivendi Stubaki", realised in cooperation with and supported by Hotel Wrello, the Stubičke Toplice Municipal Library, and the Stubičke Toplice Municipal Tourist Board.
The aim of the gathering is to preserve the memory of the great poet, promote her literary work, and further highlight Vesna Parun's connection with the place where she spent her final years. The cultural narrative continues through the "Nagrada Vesna Parun" Poetry Festival, thanks to which Stubičke Toplice have established themselves over the past decade as a recognisable poetry destination at the national level.
