Giuliano, the singer from Split, could be the one to usher Osijek residents into the year 2027. He disclosed this information at a concert this evening, and if the announcement materialises, locals may spend the final hours of 2026 enjoying his hits such as “Dobro mi doša, ljubavi”, “Jugo” and “Srna i vuk”.
The concert at which Giuliano made this announcement was held to mark the Day of the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences in Osijek. The singer thus took the opportunity of the anniversary of the higher education institution to hint to the audience about a possible performance at the city's New Year's Eve celebration.
There is no official confirmation from the City of Osijek at this stage. This means that the announcement currently remains at the level of information provided by the singer to the audience, without confirmation from the competent city authorities regarding a potential engagement.
Giuliano has a number of songs behind him that have marked domestic pop music. His performance, if it materialises, could serve as a musical introduction to the new year on the city's streets and squares, allowing Osijek residents to recall his most famous hits in the final hours of 2026.
Until the City of Osijek provides official confirmation, the question remains open as to whether the announcement will be realised. In the event of a positive response, Giuliano's performance would be part of the open-air New Year's programme, and his songs could mark the entry into the year 2027.
