The traditional dance workshop 'Steps Through Tradition' will take place in the lapidarium of the Vinkovci City Museum. The event is part of the programme for the 1st Street Culture Festival, taking place on 22 and 23 August 2026.
The workshop is specifically designed for young people aged 15 to 30. The aim of the organisers is to introduce this age group to traditional dances, which are an integral part of social gatherings, such as weddings, parties, and other cultural events in the community.
The learning and practice of dances is entrusted to experienced folk dancers Martina Šarić Živikić and Nikola Šuša. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and master the specific steps of the šokačko kol, the kukunje, and the martinski kol, thereby preserving and passing on the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The programme is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, 22 and 23 August, with a start time of 10:00 and a finish at 13:00 each day. Due to limited space in the lapidarium, the number of participants is strictly limited to 30 people.
