The international cycling race CRO Race will pass through Velika Gorica on Sunday, 27 September. The passage through the town is part of the sixth stage from Samobor to Zagreb, with cyclists expected to pass through Velika Gorica at around 12:00.
Due to the safety of participants and spectators, temporary traffic regulations will be in place from 11:00 to 15:30. The restriction will be enforced with the presence of Ministry of Interior (MUP) officials and representatives of the organisation, with drivers being redirected to passable routes. All road users finding themselves on the race route are asked to follow the instructions of the police and other event staff, and to slow down or stop their vehicles as necessary as cyclists pass by.
Cyclists will enter Velika Gorica via Zagreb Street, then continue along the street of Prince Ljudevit Posavski and the street of Matice Hrvatske. At the roundabout, they turn into the street of Slavko Kolar, continuing along the street of King Zvonimir, Rak Street (route 3068) and the avenue of Pope Paul II (route D408), before proceeding along route D30 (153rd Brigade) towards Selnica. The route then continues over the Homeland Bridge (route 1029) and the Workers' Road towards Dugo Selo.
Following the tenth edition last year, the 11th edition of CRO Race has made a significant step forward. The international cycling federation has included the race in the ProSeries category.
Residents of Velika Gorica are invited to line the route on Sunday and welcome the cyclists as they pass through the town. The youngest are particularly encouraged to come with their parents to support the participants in the race.
