Croatian Auto Club (HAK) has reported heavy traffic on major roads and at certain border crossings. Drivers are advised to adjust their speed and driving style to the conditions on the roads, to increase the distance between vehicles, and to avoid sudden braking and sharp steering movements.
On the A3 motorway between Bregana and Lipovac, at 45+500 km between the Rugvica junction and the Osvetski junction, an accident occurred on the roadway in the direction of Bregana. Due to this, traffic is routed over two lanes with a speed limit of 80 km/h. On the same motorway, at 19+000 km between the Zagreb zapad junction and the Lučko junction, drivers are driving with a speed limit of 80 km/h due to debris on the road.
Due to works on the repair of the Grab bridge, traffic is flowing in both directions on the section between the Gornja Ploča junction and the Sv. Rok junction (from 204+800 to 209+800 km) until 14 December, using one side of the motorway. Works are also taking place between the 139th and 145th km between the Otočac junction and the Perušić junction on the roadway in the direction of Dubrovnik, where traffic is flowing in the direction of Zagreb, while the direction towards Dubrovnik is closed due to works in the Brezik tunnel. The expected duration of these works is until 16 October 2026.
From 29 to 30 October, the section between the Krapina and Trakošćan junctions will be closed in both directions, with a detour via the DC1 road. Closures are scheduled for 13/10, 14/10, 15/10, 20/10, 21/10, 22/10, 27/10, 28/10, and 29/10. Until 15 October, the exit at the Đurmanec junction will be closed due to repair works, with traffic directed from Mačja towards Zagreb.
Until 23 October, traffic is flowing in both directions on the western lane of the Frković tunnel (western lane) from 5 km + 800 to 2 km + 800. Until 30 October, traffic is flowing in both directions on the western lane from 22+500 km to 20+800 km, following the renovation of the pedestrian crossing.
Until 14 October, traffic is flowing on one lane between the 9+000 km and 5+000 km marks, between the Zagreb zapad junction and the Samobor junction, in the direction of Bregana, with a speed limit of 80 km/h. Until 16 October, traffic is flowing on one lane between the Sveta Nedelja and Zagreb zapad junctions (from 12+480 km to 15+300 km), in the direction of Lipovac, with a speed limit of 60 km/h. Due to traffic pressure at the entrance to the work zone, a queue is expected, with short delays.
Until 22 October, traffic is flowing on one lane between the Popovača and Kutina junctions in the direction of Lipovac (from 90+800 to 92+500 km). Between 92+500 km and 91+950 km, in the direction of Bregana, traffic is flowing in both directions on one lane, with a speed limit of 80 km/h. Until 15 November, traffic is flowing in both directions on the lane between the Nova Gradiška and Lužani junctions, from 167+850 to 169+610 km, and in the direction of Bregana, traffic is flowing in both directions on one lane, with a speed limit of 80 km/h.
Until 18 December, the Ilova bridge is closed between the Kutina and Lipovljani junctions (at 110+980 km). The driving lane is closed from 112+200 to 110+600 in the direction of Bregana. Traffic is flowing on two lanes in the direction of Bregana (one lane on the northern lane, one lane on the southern lane) and two lanes in the direction of Lipovac, with a speed limit of 80 km/h.
Until 31 December, traffic is flowing on one lane due to the relief of the entrance to the Zagreb zapad junction (Jankomir) from the direction of Lipovac (A3) towards the city of Zagreb, from the direction of Bregana (A3) and Mačva (A2) towards Zagreb (Sava bridge - Jankomir), traffic is flowing on one lane. Until 15 October 2026, due to the implementation of works on the left lane, including works on the arms of the Zagreb istok junction (from the direction of Lipovac to the direction of GP Goričan and from the direction of Zagreb/Slavonska Avenue to the direction of GP Goričan), the mentioned arms of the junction are temporarily closed, and traffic is diverted to a detour route. The detour route during the works for both directions is as follows: Zagreb istok junction – continue on motorway A3 in the direction of Bregana/Split/Rijeka – Kosnica junction – pass through the Kosnica junction back to the direction of Lipovac – Zagreb istok junction and continue to the direction of GP Goričan.
Until 31 December, the Kraljeva Velika rest area is closed (in the direction of Lipovac). Maintenance works are taking place between the 22+000 km and 26+500 km marks, between the Lučko and Buzin junctions, on the roadway in the direction of Lipovac, with traffic flowing on one lane, with a speed limit of 60 km/h. The expected duration of the maintenance works is until 17:00. Until 15 October, traffic is flowing on one lane, with a speed limit of 60 km/h.
