Three road traffic incidents were recorded in the Podravina region, resulting in four people being injured. The most severe injuries were sustained by participants in an incident in Kaniška Iva, while the other two accidents occurred on a county road and the A3 motorway. All injured individuals were transported to medical facilities in Varaždin, Bjelovar, Slavonski Brod, and Nova Gradiška.
In the incident that occurred on Tuesday, 11 August, at approximately 15:15, a 39-year-old Ukrainian national was injured. The accident occurred on a county road between Slokovec and Kapela Podravska. The driver was operating a personal vehicle, travelling from the direction of Slokovec.
The vehicle overturned in a sharp right-hand bend due to speed inappropriate for the road conditions, visibility, and the state of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, entering a roadside ditch and low vegetation. The driver was injured and received medical assistance at Varaždin General Hospital. Her injuries will be assessed subsequently.
The second incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Kaniška Iva, at approximately 20:10, on a road leading from Međurić towards Garešnica. Two people, a 24-year-old driver and a 21-year-old passenger, were seriously injured in the accident. Both were transported to the General Hospital "Dr. Anđelko Višić" in Bjelovar.
At 07:23, a traffic accident involving one vehicle occurred on the A3 motorway, at the 179th kilometre of the northern carriageway. Emergency medical services transported the injured persons to the general hospital in Slavonski Brod and the hospital in Nova Gradiška.
