The Croatian Auto Slalom Championship final takes place in Dubrovnik today, with the best Croatian auto slalom drivers attending the event. The last two races of the season, organised by AK Ragusa Racing, take place today and tomorrow.
The track, where the battles will take place, is 1,310 metres long and has 42 gates, with 81 drivers registered for the competition. The programme for both days includes training and competitive driving, with the schedule for Saturday and Sunday starting with a morning verification and training, while competitive driving is scheduled from early afternoon to later afternoon.
The battle for the Croatian title will be particularly interesting. Fran Kranjac from AMK Zanatlija Zagreb and Nenad Damarija from AK Pula Rovinn are tied on 59 points each ahead of the Dubrovnik finale. Dario Merlić and Max Šimunović still have a chance for a high placement.
Drivers from the Dubrovnik-Neretva county clubs are also competing. Among them are Deni Kmetović from AK Žup, Dado Velašević from AK Ragusa Racing, and Ante Prnić and Mateo Škoda, with Škoda in a battle for the podium in his class.
This year's competition is the 28th Ragusa Racing Prize, and points are awarded for the Croatian Auto Slalom Championship, the Croatian Auto Sl Championship of the South, and the Historic Cars Cup. The previous races of the season took place in Ploče, Ludbreg, Oroslavlje and Zagreb, with the season's final standings falling this weekend on Mirinovo.
