The players of the women's handball club Umag successfully completed the first phase of the training cycle. The training sessions were held at the city's multi-purpose sports centre, where the players spent time intensifying their physical fitness and practising tactics ahead of the upcoming season.
The entire training cycle lasted three weeks, running from 10 to the end of August. During this period, the training was scheduled to take place in the late afternoon, as the players avoided the hottest part of the day, although the conditions on the pitch were challenging.
The weather conditions were highly unfavourable for work outdoors at the start. The weather was hot, and the temperatures made physical exertion significantly more difficult. Such heat conditions required extra caution and an adjustment in the intensity of the training to ensure the safety of the players.
Despite the high temperatures that characterised the period before the start, the team managed to complete all planned activities. Working in the late afternoon allowed for better control of the load, and the location at the multi-purpose centre provided adequate conditions for technical preparation.
With the completion of this three-week phase, the handball players from Umbag concluded the first step of the training cycle. An evaluation of the results achieved now follows, along with preparation for the subsequent phases of training that will follow after the end of August.
