The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 in a game played at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The decision was sealed in the final seconds by a kick from Cam Little, who made it from 57 yards.

The Jaguars had taken the lead with eight seconds remaining, after the Eagles had kicked a field goal with 48 seconds left. Ameer Abdullah then returned the ball 53 yards before being stopped, with one second remaining on the clock. Little, aged 23, removed his helmet after the successful kick and ran towards the end of the pitch with his arms outstretched, mimicking the celebration of England midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The match began with an incident: Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr and Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr were involved in a scuffle at the kick-off. Josh Cameron scored a touchdown for the Jaguars from 90 yards following the kick-off, but the score was disallowed due to penalties that followed after it was thought that Trotter had pushed an opponent to the ground, and the referee then intervened.

The Eagles entered the match without their two best runners, Saquon Barkley and Tank Biggins. Despite this, they took the lead: a wide receiver, Parker Washington, reached the end zone in the first quarter and celebrated with a boxing-style celebration. The Eagles went into half-time leading 14-3 after a touchdown by third-string runner Will Shipley and wide receiver Darius Cooper.

Little’s kick from 34 yards reduced the deficit in the third quarter. When Washington’s touchdown from 27 yards put the Jaguars ahead 16-14 with three minutes and 20 seconds remaining, Little missed the extra point. Washington had previously mimicked the ‘cool’ celebration of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer. Jake Elliott, in the closing stages, appeared to have kicked the winning goal for the Eagles.

The Jaguars are now on a run of three wins, while the Eagles have suffered the same number of consecutive defeats. The Jaguars are top of the AFC South with a record of 4-1 early in the fifth round, and the Eagles are second in the NFC South, with both victories achieved in the first two games.
