The friendly match between HSV and Hajduk has generated significant interest in Hamburg, with fans eagerly awaiting 15 November. The fixture is scheduled for 15:00 at the Volksparkstadion, and according to German media reports, almost 30,000 tickets have already been sold for the game.
The main reason for the high level of interest is the return of Croatian defender Marijo Vuskovic to the pitch. The 24-year-old footballer's four-year suspension for a doping case expires on 15 November, and he will play his first minutes after the ban against Hajduk. This is the club where Vuskovic began his footballing career, having left Poljud for HSV in 2021.
Interest in Vuskovic's return was evident earlier as well. His first training session with the team after returning to the Volksparkstadion, held in mid-September, was attended by more than 6,000 spectators. In the first 24 hours of ticket sales, 20,000 tickets were sold, and general sales began on Monday. Following the start of general sales, the number approached 30,000, with certain sections of the stadium already nearly sold out.
Ticket prices range from €10.44 to €25.44, with the final digits of all prices being the number 44. This number was not chosen by chance, as the Croatian defender wears number 44 on his shirt, further linking fans with his return. The match at the Volkparkstadion will thus, judging by sales, be one of the most attended preparatory matches in recent times.
