Drivers could be facing a new fuel price hike at the pumps from Tuesday, 18 August. According to unofficial information, the price of diesel is set to rise the most, which will directly impact transport costs and the daily mobility of citizens.
According to available estimates, the price of diesel could increase by 11 cents per litre. This change is part of a broader context in which the Government recently changed the model for determining the prices of oil derivatives. Instead of the previous price alignment every two weeks, new prices are now determined once a week, which can lead to more frequent fluctuations in the market.
Alongside diesel, the price hike is expected to affect Eurosuper 95. This type of fuel could become 7 cents more expensive, bringing its price to 1.63 euros per litre. This price change is part of a wider trend affecting all major types of fuel available in the domestic market.
The price hike is expected to have a significant impact on farmers and fishermen. For them, the price of blue diesel is crucial, and this is also expected to rise by 11 cents. Blue diesel, according to current estimates, is expected to cost 1.29 euros per litre, which could increase production costs in these sectors.
It is important to note that the new prices have not yet been officially confirmed. The final amounts will only be known after the Government makes a decision, which will provide an official confirmation of the changes in the prices of oil derivatives. Until then, drivers and business owners can expect additional costs in their budgets.
