The Anti-Terrorist Unit (ATJ) Lučko celebrated its 36th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its long history. ATJ Lučko, known for its high level of expertise, has passed through all of Croatia's war zones, earning an unquestionable reputation. It played a particularly notable role in the 'Bljeska' and 'Oluja' operations, where specialists took on extremely demanding tasks. In the 'Oluja' operation, ATJ Lučko had one of the most challenging roles, further confirming its indispensable role in the Croatian security structure. Despite this, the specialized nature of these units requires constant refinement, ensured through rigorous selection and training. The aim is for each member to be prepared to make decisions in the most difficult situations, protecting the constitutional order and the safety of citizens.
Minister Božinović emphasized that Croatian specialists, including those from ATJ Lučko, enjoy high international recognition. Their readiness and expertise are recognized internationally, a fact highlighted at recent international events. Croatian specialists, including those from ATJ Lučko, were given a prominent place in the military parade, positioned immediately behind the French armed forces. This recognition, awarded due to their exceptional readiness, further confirmed the high level of expertise and professionalism of the Croatian specialists.
In the context of modernization, the police have invested approximately €120 million in equipment, ensuring that specialists have the latest tools available to perform their duties. The investments, including equipment, ensure that specialists have all the necessary tools to carry out their tasks. Those present at the ceremony emphasized the importance of continuous investment in equipment, highlighting that this is essential for maintaining a high level of readiness and professionalism.
