Victory Day, Day of Thanksgiving to the Homeland, Croatian Veterans Day, and the 31st anniversary of the military-police operation Storm were solemnly commemorated in Sinj. The observances began with the laying of wreaths and lighting of candles at the bust of Defence Minister Gojko Šušak, followed by the central ceremony held at the Memorial Park of Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War. Wreaths were also laid and candles lit at this memorial site for fallen Croatian veterans.
Wreaths were laid by Deputy Mayor Denis Bobeta and President of the City Council Marija Gaurina. The ceremony was attended by representatives of numerous associations, including the Association of Parents and Widows of Fallen Veterans, police associations, and representatives of the city organisations of MOST, HDZ, and SDP. The National Anthem of the Republic of Croatia was performed by the Sinj City Band, and the prayer of absolution was led by parish priest Fra Antonio Mravak. Deputy Mayor Bobeta addressed the assembly on behalf of the City Administration, Mayor Mirko Bulja, and himself.
In Knin, Victory Day, Day of Thanksgiving to the Homeland, and Croatian Veterans Day were marked by President Zoran Milanović, who congratulated those present on the holiday and welcomed high-ranking officials, Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croats worldwide. Milanović noted that he had been addressing veterans in their name since 2012, emphasising that the war was a shared conflict among brothers-in-arms.
The President stated that the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina had waged an unprovoked, imposed, and arduous war without verbal or material assistance, noting that the peace process in Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed following the intervention of the Croatian Army, agreed upon with American allies. "There would have been no Dayton without the Croatian Army," Milanović declared, recalling the crucial role of the Croatian Army (HV) in ending the conflict. In Sveti Martin na Muri, Victory Day, Day of Thanksgiving to the Homeland, and the anniversary of Storm were solemnly marked, while in Čačinci, Victory Day and Day of Thanksgiving to the Homeland were commemorated with the laying of a wreath and lighting of candles.
