The incident occurred at 7:30 am in the town of Brtonigla in Istria. The bus involved had Rijeka registration plates, and there were six children on board. Fortunately, none of the children were injured in the incident, which is the only positive news from the accident that ended in misfortune.

According to available information, the accident occurred because the driver, a 45-year-old, lost control of the vehicle in a right-hand bend. The bus struck the concrete pillar of a public street light with its side. As a result of the impact, damage occurred to the rear doors of the bus, which was assessed as dangerous, requiring immediate precautionary measures.

Due to the damage, the vehicle had to be taken out of traffic, which required an immediate intervention. The transport operator arranged another bus in a short time to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the journey for the remaining children. All the boys were transported by another vehicle, ensuring they safely reached their destination, namely school.

In relation to this traffic accident, proceedings were initiated against the 45-year-old driver. It is considered that he violated the provisions of the Road Safety Act, which will be the subject of further legal-administrative proceedings. This incident has once again drawn attention to the importance of strict application of traffic safety regulations, particularly in the transport of children, and the need for constant caution by drivers.
