In the settlement of Glina, on Pokupljanska Street, on Wednesday, 16 September, at around 20:00, a 52-year-old man was involved in a traffic accident. The driver was driving in reverse on the local car park, during which he hit two cars parked correctly by the roadside. The incident was recorded as a traffic accident with material damage, the cause being the direct influence of alcohol on the driver, who was under its influence at the time of the incident.
After the collision, the man got out of the vehicle, but instead of sorting out the situation, he began to disrupt the public order. During the police procedure, which followed immediately after the incident, the 52-year-old man showed disrespect to the officers. Police officers had to deal with insults and disparagement during the intervention, which further complicated the situation on the ground.
Given the seriousness of the offence, the police proposed a strict penalty. The prescribed penalty was 90 days' imprisonment, in addition to a fine of 1,580 euros. Although the penalty was severe, the procedure was carried out in accordance with the regulations, and the man was released on bail following a summary procedure, which is in line with legal provisions for this type of offence.
This incident has once again highlighted the importance of respecting traffic regulations and public order. Although the man was released, the offence remains recorded, and the penalty will be enforced in accordance with legal provisions. This case serves as a warning to all drivers that they must be aware of their actions and respect legal regulations to avoid similar incidents in the future.
