Police officers from the Zadar Coast and Airport Police Station stopped a car with Zadar registration plates on the DC-110 road in Ugljan on Friday at 19:37. The vehicle was being driven by a 46-year-old man.
During the check, a preliminary test for the presence of drugs in the body was conducted, which returned a positive result. The driver was then asked to undergo blood and urine testing for analysis, but he explicitly refused.
The driver was removed from traffic due to the infractions identified under the Road Safety Act. He was issued a fine of 1,320.00 euros.
Police did not release further details regarding the incident, and the procedure was concluded at the scene. This is another case in which a driver refused to undergo drug testing, which itself constitutes an offence.
