Police officers from the Zlatar Bistrica Police Station, during a road traffic inspection in Mač on Friday, 30 October 2026, checked a passenger car driven by a 38-year-old repeat traffic offender. The inspection revealed that the 38-year-old had been driving the vehicle before obtaining the right to drive motor vehicles, specifically without having passed a driving test.
The vehicle’s roadworthiness certificate had also expired. Further checks established that three police notices with the measure "seize" had been issued for the corresponding registration plates and roadworthiness certificate due to the vehicle not being registered within the prescribed period. The registration plates and roadworthiness certificate were temporarily seized from him.
Due to the committed offences, the 38-year-old was detained, and the passenger car he was driving was also temporarily seized. On Saturday, 31 October at 08:20, he was brought before the Zlatar Municipal Court with a proposal for indictment for offences under Articles 216 and 238 of the Road Traffic Safety Act. The court ordered his detention for a period of three days, after which he was handed over to Zagreb Prison.
On the same day, 30 October, at approximately 21:30 in Družilovac, police officers stopped a passenger car driven by a 43-year-old driver. The driver refused to undergo preliminary testing to determine the presence of drugs or medications in his system, and 2.53 grams of cannabis were found on him.
Due to the committed offences under Articles 199 and 282 of the Road Traffic Safety Act and the offence under Article 3 of the Act on Combating Drug Abuse, the 43-year-old was detained and brought before the Zlatar Municipal Court with a proposal for indictment.
