County President Ivan Celjak, accompanied by Kutina Mayor Zlatko Babić and colleagues, inspected works in the settlement of Banova Jaruga, where a road and the bridge over the Pakra river are being upgraded. In Banova Jaruga, repairs are currently underway on an 870-metre stretch of road, which is a vital artery for residents of the Kutina area.
The road repairs in Banova Jaruga are jointly funded by the Sisak-Moslavina County, via the County Road Administration SMŽ, and the City of Kutina. The value of the road works is 208,516.38 euros including VAT.
In parallel, the bridge over the Pakra river is also being repaired, which plays a key role in connecting the Slavonia and Moslavina parts of Sisak-Moslavina County. The bridge repairs are fully funded by the County Road Administration SMŽ, with the contracted value of the works amounting to 802,675.35 euros including VAT.
The bridge in Banova Jaruga is crucial for connecting the wider Moslavina area and the western part of Sisak-Moslavina County, as it links Kutina and Popovača with Lipovljani and Novska via Banova Jaruga.
Kutina Mayor Zlatko Babić emphasised that county roads are significantly traffic-loaded and that their improvement contributes to safer and higher-quality traffic flow. In cooperation with the County Road Administration, the traffic signalling system is also being improved, particularly in sections where the county road passes by schools or kindergartens.
Between 2021 and 2026, a total of 2.3 million euros has been invested in upgrading road infrastructure in the Kutina municipality. This investment covers the improvement of more than 19 kilometres of roads.
