Officers on Sunday arrested a 47-year-old man who was driving an electric scooter under the influence of 2.20 per mille of alcohol. The arrest took place on Sunday at 19:10 in Miklinova Street, and the man was immediately removed from traffic. Proceedings will be initiated against him.
A 46-year-old driver of a car with a Križevci registration was arrested for a similar offence. On Friday, 18 July, at 23:15, he was driving a vehicle in Križevci, with 2.16 per cent alcohol in his blood. The driver was brought before the competent court on Sunday.
The court proposed that the 46-year-old be sentenced to 30 days in prison and that 15 days of detention be imposed. A protective measure banning the driving of motor vehicles in category B for three months was also imposed. In the summary proceedings, the driver was heard and released by decision, with the court to make a final decision on the sanctions at a later date.
The police have called on all drivers to contribute to the safety of all road users by behaving responsibly and adhering to traffic regulations. It is particularly stressed that drivers must not drive under the influence of alcohol, which is key to preventing road accidents and protecting lives on the roads.
