Officers stopped a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old man on 21 August 2026. The man was driving without having passed a driving test, which constitutes a direct breach of the regulations on road safety. Police seized the vehicle at the scene, in accordance with regulations on the confiscation of items used in the commission of an offence.
This is not the first time the 40-year-old has been subject to legal measures. Prior to the incident, he had already been penalised several times for traffic offences. However, the most severe measure was taken in relation to his driving licence. Indeed, his driving licence was revoked after he accumulated 12 penalty points. Despite this, he continued to drive without meeting the legal requirements.
Given that this is a repeat offence and a general disregard for traffic regulations, a strict penalty was imposed. The court sentenced the 40-year-old man to 60 days in prison. In addition to the prison sentence, a decision was made to confiscate the vehicle used in the offence, with the aim of preventing its further use for illegal acts.
Following the delivery of the court's binding decision, the 40-year-old man was taken into custody to serve his sentence. In addition, the driver was prohibited from submitting an application to retake the driving test. He will only be able to apply to retake the test in May 2027, which means he will be deprived of the right to drive a motor vehicle for a longer period from the start of the sentence.
