The Government of the Republic of Croatia has adopted a decision at the 187th telephone meeting approving the crossing of the border by the Croatian Armed Forces. This measure is aimed at providing humanitarian aid to France in the fight against the outbreaks of fire. It is a concrete step in international solidarity in a time of crisis.

The legal basis for this action stems from the Defence Act. The act stipulates that the armed forces may cross the border to provide humanitarian aid to another state. The decision of the Government is made with the prior consent of the President of the Republic. This ensures the constitutionality and legality of the international military intervention for humanitarian purposes.

A Canadair CL-415 aircraft from the Croatian Air Force will be used to carry out this task. This specialised aircraft is known for its efficiency in fighting fires. It is particularly suitable for operations covering large areas of forest land.

The operation will be carried out by two crews of the Croatian Armed Forces. Their presence and expertise are key to the successful execution of the task. This ensures that the Croatian aid is maximally effective in the fight against the wildfires affecting the French territory.
