In Donja Stubica, construction works are underway on the building of the primary school, the primary aim of which is to enable operation on a single shift. The renovation and extension project, valued at just under €3 million, involves the thorough renovation of existing spaces and the construction of new facilities necessary for the smooth delivery of the educational process.
According to the plan, part of the school building will be renovated, while three new classrooms will be built in parallel, equipped with the necessary ancillary facilities. In addition to the educational spaces, the project includes the construction of new dining areas, thereby addressing the capacity needs for all pupils. The primary school in Donja Stubica currently has 384 pupils, which requires adequate conditions for their stay and learning.
The works are being carried out by DOMinvest d.o.o., while the supervisory service has been entrusted to ZAGORJE PRO-KON d.o.o. The deadline for the completion of all construction works is strictly set for 27 August 2027. This timeframe is crucial for the timely preparation of the building for the start of the new school year.
During the inspection of the construction site, the works were reviewed by the Župan of Krapina-Zagorje County, Željko Kolar. He was joined by the mayor of Donja Stubica, Nikola Gospočić, and the school director, Sonja Martinek. The aim of the joint inspection was to monitor the progress of the works and ensure alignment with the planned schedule.
Silvija Grgić from the local development agency also participated in monitoring the implementation of the project, which represents a significant step in the modernisation of local educational infrastructure. Upon completion of the works, the school will be equipped with modern facilities tailored to the needs of contemporary education.
