Vukovar-Syrmia County is implementing a comprehensive programme of educational infrastructure renewal. The focus is on the Posavina region, where the aim is to ensure conditions for single-shift work in schools. The aim is to enable the introduction of full-day schooling, which would ensure equality in access to quality education. The majority of projects are funded by national funds, which confirms the local administration's commitment to modernisation. The county's president, Ivan Bosančić, stressed that the key aim is to ensure equal conditions for all pupils in the county.

One of the completed projects is the energy refurbishment of the Osnovna škula Ivana Kozarca in Županja. The value of the intervention is three million euros. This school, which is the largest in the county, now produces its own energy for operation. In addition to this renovation, the county is proceeding with the construction of sports halls to meet the needs of local communities. In the municipality of Drenovci, which previously had no sports hall, three such facilities are being built in the settlements of Drenovci, Račinovci, and Posavski Podgajci.

A sports hall is being built in Drenovci alongside the Osnovna škula Franje Hanamana. The value of the project is estimated at 3.30 million euros. A smaller sports hall, measuring 10 by 10 metres, is being built nearby. The height of the building is four meters, and the estimated value is 933,779.47 euros. In addition to sports facilities, the county is investing in the reconstruction of school buildings. At the Matija Antun Reljković primary school in Cern, the value of the project is 1.35 million euros, and reconstruction is currently underway. The works include the construction of four new classrooms and two cabinets. A lift for access for people with disabilities is also being installed. In the course of the same project, the school kitchen is undergoing modernisation. This ensures better conditions for the stay of pupils and teachers.
