The government has given its consent to new loans for the Krapina-Zagor County, the cities of Osijek, Varaždin, Ogulin, Donja Stubica and Donji Miholjac, and the municipalities of Veliki Grđevac, Orle and Martinec. The funds will primarily be spent on investments in schools, sports halls and kindergartens.
The Krapina-Zagor County will borrow a total of 25 million euros from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR). It will take out three loans, financing 18 capital projects, all of which relate to the construction, extension or renovation of schools and sports halls.
The first loan, worth 9.6 million euros, will finance the renovation and extension of the elementary school of Kvašnja Gornja and the construction of a school sports hall at the elementary school in Veliko Trgovišče. The same loan covers the renovation and extension of the elementary schools of Janković and Oroslav, and the construction of a new building for the elementary school in Donji Miholjac. A new building is also planned for the elementary school in Petrovec, with a sports hall, while a sports hall will be built at the elementary school in Mirkovec. The elementary schools of Bedekovčina and Zlatar Bistrica, as well as the sports hall of the school in Konjščina, will be renovated, extended and upgraded. The county will borrow 6.8 million euros for this group of projects.
A further loan of 8.6 million euros will be used to renovate and extend seven more elementary schools: Sveti Križ Začretje, Krapinske Toplice, Donja Stubica, Belec, Ante Kovačić, Viktor Kovačić and Stjepan Radić. A new school sports hall will also be built in Donja Stubica.
The city of Osijek will finance the construction and renovation of schools, sports halls and kindergartens through loans. The construction of 11 sports halls is planned in the elementary schools of Fran Krsto Frankopan, Grigor Vitez, August Šenno, Ljudevit Gaj, Dobrila Cesi, Tina Ujević, Vladimir Bečić, Ivan Filippov, Retf, Vijenac and Josip. The construction of the new elementary school of Vladimir Nazor and the kindergarten in Podrav will also take place, while the elementary schools of Višnjevac, Tenja and Jagoda Truhel will be renovated and extended. Among the projects are the renovation and construction of the Lower Drava Street, the renovation of the public infrastructure of the Retf quarter and the construction of the intrazonal road from the street of St. L. B. Mađić to the street of Sviat. For a total of 19 capital projects, Osijek will borrow slightly more than 12 million euros from HBOR.
The city of Varaždin has received the consent of the government for a loan of three million euros from the Privredna Banka Zagreb. The money will be used to purchase real estate, and according to local media, this is the complex of the Vartek industrial buildings. The Ogulin will borrow 1.6 million euros from the Erste & Steiermärkische Bank, and the loan will be used for the construction of a new building of the kindergarten Bistrac.
The city of Donja Stubica has received consent for a loan to finance five projects: the extension of the kindergarten Bubamara, the renovation of the football field and the renovation of the changing rooms, the renovation of the small and large children's playgrounds and the construction of rainwater drainage in the settlement of Matenci. The Privredna Banka Zagreb is borrowing two million euros for this. The approval for the loan of 2.5 million euros was also given to the Donji Miholjac, which will use the loan from the Erste & Steiermärkische Bank for the construction of the communal infrastructure, including the overpass of the Puhovo over the railway line, the embankment, the access road in the industrial zone of the Črnovce and the maintenance of the unclassified roads.
The municipalities of Veliki Grđevac in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County and Orle in the Zagreb County will also borrow to build kindergartens. The Veliki Grđevac is taking a loan of 1.146 million euros from the Erste & Steiermärkische Bank, while the municipality of Orle is borrowing from the HBOR in the amount of 2.8 million euros. The municipality of Martinec is borrowing from the Croatian Post Bank for two million euros, and the loan will be used for the reconstruction of the fire station and the construction of the Slanc Interpretation Centre.
