The town of Klanjec secured more than 53,000 euros in grants from the Ministry of Demography and Immigration for two projects aimed at children. The mayor, Zlatko Brlek, signed the contracts on 23 June in Bjelovar, where the minister handed over 186 contracts for kindergarten and playground projects to 117 local self-governing units.

For the Park of Generations in Gredice project, Klanjec was allocated 35,000 euros, which will co-finance street workout equipment and children's play areas at a new playground in Gredice currently being developed. The total value of the construction and equipping of the playground amounts to 183,061 euros.

Under the second contract, for the Sunny World of Play project, 18,075 euros were secured for the purchase of toys and sunshades for the outdoor area of the Kesten Children's Kindergarten. The value of this project is 36,888 euros, with the ministry co-financing 49 per cent.

Klanjec qualified for support in the category of local self-governing units classified from V to VIII groups according to the development index, which determines the intensity of the support that can be obtained. The contracts were awarded at the ceremony in Bjelovar to towns and municipalities from the areas of Bjelovar-Bilogora, Koprivnica-Križevci, Krapina-Zagorje, Međimurje, and Varaždin counties.
