At the 8th session of the Zagreb County Assembly, the amendments to the Destination Plan for the territory of Zagreb County were adopted unanimously. The amendments were presented by Ivana Alilović, director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
The amendments concern point 7 of the Plan, namely the list of projects. The purpose of the amendments is to align the project component with the plans of local tourist boards and to clearly define responsibilities for implementation, in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. The established objectives, measures, and sustainability indicators remain the foundation for the further development of the destination.
Ivana Alilović stated that the Plan is a living document that is adjusted to the actual situation on the ground, in cooperation with local tourist boards and people who daily create the tourist offer. The initial list included 166 projects at the regional and local level, while the amended project component is structured around five overarching themes for the period from 2026 to 2028. Local tourist associations are incorporating their own projects into their management plans.
The five overarching projects cover the areas of: promoting sustainable and regenerative tourism and enhancing the visibility of the destination, strengthening the management of sustainable tourism, developing enogastronomic tourism, developing active tourism, and developing health tourism. The destination management plan was adopted on 2 October 2025, and the current implementation has involved coordination with stakeholders, verification of project proposals, and their alignment with local management plans. The results and the contribution to the achievement of the Plan's objectives will be monitored throughout the implementation period of the Plan until 2028.
In Graberje Ivanić, work is progressing on the extension of the Josip Badalić Primary School, an investment worth €2.28 million. The existing school building is being extended with two new classrooms, ancillary facilities, and a library. The works were inspected by the Deputy County Prefect of Zagreb County, Ervin Kolarec, the Deputy Mayor of Ivanić-Grad, Tomislav Cuvaj, and the acting director of the school, Ivica Gregurec.
For the project, €2.1 million was secured from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, while the remaining €187,000 was provided by the Zagreb County. The extension is expected to create better spatial conditions for teaching and contribute to the organisation of the school's work. In this school year, 186 students are attending the Josip Badalić Primary School, with classes currently taking place in two shifts. In addition to the Josip Badalić Primary School, an extension is planned for the Đure Deželić Primary School.
