Doris Pinčić Guberović has returned to the cameras for the show 'Dobro jutro Hrvatska'. The presenter stood before the cameras of the HTV morning programme on Friday, after saying goodbye to her mother, Violeta, last week.
She was joined on the show by colleague Mirko Fodor. Doris Pinčić Guberović was dressed in black, and together with her colleague, she introduced the show's topics, including one on empathy.
She spoke about how willing we are to pause before judging someone. "We hope that the storm will not be in our lives either," she stated. She added: "There should be fewer of them if we are empathetic or compassionate towards one another."
The presenter asked: "Do we even know what it means to walk in someone else's shoes today, or are we all, by inertia, prone to judging, not looking at what is hidden behind someone's decisions and even mistakes?" She followed up with the question: "Where has empathy gone, has it really disappeared?"
She also reflected on young people: "We constantly talk about how young people today are very unempathetic, they do not understand others…" However, from her own experience, she says otherwise: "For instance, in my circle, I would not say that is the case at all; perhaps that is also a myth." She announced: "We will check all of that."
Doris Pinčić Guberović had previously said goodbye to her mother on social media. Alongside a photograph of her mother, she published the poem 'Adio' by Đani Maršan.
Violeta Pinčić worked for years at the University of Zadar (Sveučilište u Zadru). With her husband, Marija, she raised three children, daughters Kristina and Doris, and son Stipa. Doris Pinčić Guberović has previously spoken publicly about the importance of her parents in her life.
