The generation of pupils who last left the school benches of Pre Primary School in June 1986 has reunited. The reunion, held 40 years on, brought together a hundred former pupils of that generation.
Having completed their primary education, each had gone their separate way, yet the bond with their home region and school friends had not completely faded. Some members of the generation had met over the years, while others had not seen each other for a long time. These meetings, four decades on, were particularly emotional for many.
The gathering was marked by reminiscences of shared school days. The generation recalled school friends who were no longer with them, paying tribute to them within the circle of their former classmates.
The evening was filled with laughter, song and dance. The song and dance recalled the tea parties of school days, with the atmosphere transporting all present back to the time when they had attended primary school together.
The 1986 generation reunion thus demonstrated once again how the bonds of childhood are enduring, regardless of the years and paths each has taken since leaving school.
