The Ludbreg Fire Department was the host of the 16th regional competition of the Varažbin County Fire Department, held at the Sara Kolak Sports Park in Ludbreg. Young firefighters from volunteer fire brigades across the entire Varažbin County gathered for the event.
The competitive segment involved 93 participants distributed across four categories. A total of 1,155 people attended the event, including mentors, leaders, fire officials, technical staff, parents, and numerous members of the public.
The results were announced at a ceremonial ceremony where medals were awarded. The ceremony was attended by the County Prefect of Varažbin County, Anđelko Stričak, MP and Mayor of the City of Ludbrega, Dubravko Bilić, President of the City Council of Ludbrega, Darko Jagić, President of the Fire Association of the Varažbin County, Nedjeljko Vukalović, acting county fire chief, Mario Rogina, Deputy President of the Fire Association of the Varažbin County, Radovan Martinec, and many other distinguished guests.
In the male youth category (10–16 years), first place was taken by the DVD Margečan, second by the DVD Završje, and third by the DVD Varaždin Toplice. In the female youth category (10–16 years), the best was the DVD Varaždin Toplace, followed by the DVD Remetinec and the DVD Tuhovec.
Congratulations were extended to all participants and organizers by MP and Mayor of the City of Ludbrega, Dubravko Bilić, and President of the Fire Association of the Varažbin County, Nedjeljko Vukalović. Prefect Anđelko Stričak congratulated everyone on the successful organization of the competition.
Stričak expressed his satisfaction that the host of this year's competition was the Fire Association of the City of Ludbrega, which once again demonstrated the importance of the enthusiasm, volunteerism, and community spirit fostered by fire associations. He highlighted that the fire brigade is not only the future of firefighting, but also an example of how values such as solidarity, discipline, and compassion can be built from the youngest age. He added that the Varažbin County is the cradle of firefighting, and that such results and excellent organization are its trademark.
