The eleventh edition of the 'Valentina Soka' Memorial took place in Križevci, a traditional fire brigade competition held annually in the town. The event was organised by the Križevce Volunteer Fire Department, and is dedicated to the eternal memory of the department's member, Valentina Soka.
The competition took place at the training ground behind the fire station in Križevci, with the afternoon spent in the sign of attractive exercises. Numerous male and female teams tested their strength, while the event, in keeping with its tradition, maintained a strong humanitarian note. The best teams were presented with trophies, medals, and gifts.
The attendees were addressed by the Deputy Mayor, Ivica Švagelj, on behalf of the City of Križevci, who highlighted the importance of preserving the memory of Valentina and praised the tireless efforts of the organisers. Support and congratulations were given by the County Fire Association, represented by Slavko Gotić, and by the City Fire Association, represented by Miroslav Petrač. The latter stated that the fire brigade in Križevce, through such events, repeatedly demonstrates their unity, readiness, and great heart.
In the category of children's male teams, first place was taken by the Popovača Fire Brigade, second by the Remetinec Fire Brigade, and third by the Novaki Zrenski Fire Brigade. Following were the Kalnik, Kalnik, Apat, Bregi, Starigrad, Špiran, and Cubinec Fire Brigades. In the children's female team category, the best was the Kalnik Fire Brigade, followed by the Sveti Petar Orehovec Fire Brigade, and third by the Cubinec Fire Brigade.
In the youth male team category, the first place was taken by the Draganovec Fire Brigade, ahead of the Koprivnica and Cubinec Fire Brigades, while the following were the Erd, Cirkven, and Povelić Fire Brigades. In the female youth category, first place went to the Draganović Fire Brigade, second to the Remetinec Fire Brigade, third to the Koprivnica Fire Brigade, and fourth to the Cubinec Fire Brigade.
Among the male teams, the best was the Špiran Fire Brigade, followed by the Sveti Petar Orehovec Fire Brigade, third by the Cubinec Fire Brigade, fourth by the Majdan Fire Brigade, fifth by the Miholec Fire Brigade, sixth by the Ferešani Fire Brigade, seventh by the Diakovac Fire Brigade, eighth by the Erdőc Fire Brigade, and ninth by the Bukovec Fire Brigade. In the female category, the best was the Kalnik Fire Brigade, followed by the Sveti Petar Orehovec and Erdőc Fire Brigades, while the fourth and fifth places were taken by the Cubinec and Apat Fire Brigades.
