The 10th anniversary edition of the Darko Komen memorial competition, held by the Višnica volunteer fire brigade, took place on 26 September. The competition brought together fire brigades competing in memory of the late firefighter Darko Komen.

At the opening, the president of the Višnica volunteer fire brigade, Stjepan Krizanic, the president of the local council of Lepoglava, Robert Duka, the commander of the Lepoglava fire brigade, Vedran Horvat, the member of the board of the Fire Association of the Republic of Slovenia, Franjo Buk, and the mayor of Lepoglava, Zdenko, addressed the participants. The memorial was opened by the mayor of Lepoglava, Zdenko.

In their speeches, they stressed the importance of remembering people who have benefited the community. This is also the purpose of the competition, which is held in memory of the late fireman.

The competition brought together eight fire brigades, which during the competition performed tasks that simulated situations encountered during interventions. This is a test of practical skills and the readiness of the teams to the conditions of the real fire brigade.
