A major fire broke out on Monday just before 15:00 at the premises of CE-ZA-R, a waste management company, on Industrijska Street in the Sesvetas district of Zagreb, thick black smoke spreading across the eastern part of the city, as reported by Zagreb.info and N1.

Emergency services, including fire brigades and police, were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they are working to extinguish the blaze and secure the area. Due to the intervention, traffic on Industrijska Street and surrounding roads may be disrupted or temporarily suspended, according to Zagreb.info.

CE-ZA-R, a member of the C.I.O.S. group, operates a recycling centre in Sesvetas where various waste materials are processed, including bulky waste and old household appliances. The site also houses a large facility for crushing and sorting waste.
