Mons. Paško Glasnović celebrated his 50th anniversary of priesthood, the golden jubilee, on Saturday, 26 September 2026. The celebration took place in the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gora, and the celebration was linked to his 75th birthday and 25 years of pastoral service in Gora.
The solemn mass was presided over by the Bishop of Sisak, Vlado Košić. The mass was presided over in communion with the Archbishop of Gjirokastër, Rrok Gjonlleshaj, the Bishop of Prizren-Pristina, Dodo Gergji, the Bishop of Dubrovnik, Rok Glasnović, and Bishop Kiro Stojanov. In addition, about thirty priests attended the celebration.
The Croatian Parliament member and Mayor of the City of Petrinja, Magdalena Komes, attended the celebration. Bishop Košić, in his homily, thanked Mons. Glasnović for his long service. He especially highlighted his connection with Croatian Catholics who had settled in the Petrinja area from Kosovo, as well as his role in preserving their faith and community.
Bishop Košić recalled that Mons. Glasnović had strongly linked his priestly path to Marian shrines, first in Letnica and then in Gora. Mons. Paško Glasnović is, in fact, the rector of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Following the mass, the bishops present, the parishioners, relatives and friends offered their congratulations. Mayor Magdalena Koses congratulated him on this great anniversary and thanked him for his long-term pastoral work and contribution to the community in the Petrinja area.
