The town of Našice will host the 35th anniversary of the 132nd Brigade on Saturday, 17 October. The event is organised by the Municipality of Našice, the local tourist board, and the Association of Veterans, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs.
The programme begins at 09:45 with the laying of wreaths and the lighting of candles in memory of fallen Croatian defenders at the memorial site. Prior to the main tribute, a short performance by the local Dora Majorette Team is scheduled. At 11:00, a memorial mass will be held at the parish church of St Anthony of Padua.
The central part of the commemoration features military displays. A fly-by by the Croatian Air Force's 'Wings of the Storm' acrobatic team, an exhibition of weapons and military equipment, and a demonstration by Black Hawk UH-60M helicopters are scheduled. The technical assembly, featuring weapons, combat, and support equipment, will be open for viewing from 12:00 in the car park near Lake Lapac, while the aerial display is planned for 13:30 above the lake. At 15:00, military-style beans will be served to participants and visitors.
Creative workshops, a fishing school, and a kite-flying event are organised for the youngest attendees. On the central square, a welcome is planned for marathon runners participating in the 6th '132nd Brigade' memorial marathon, running from Ivanovac to Našici. The programme will conclude, following a gastronomic offering, with a performance by the Pet Tambura band, starting at 19:30 on the central square.
The 132nd Brigade of Našice-Orahovič was established on 19 October 1991. Approximately 5,000 veterans have passed through its ranks. Fifty-nine members of the brigade made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of Croatia, while more than 200 were wounded. The brigade was decorated with the Order of Nikola Šubić Zrinski in recognition of its contributions during the Homeland War.
