The PIO Association has issued a statement, reopening the issue of disputed property in Strossmayer Street in Rijeka. The organisation is seeking to draw public attention to the perceived failures of state institutions in resolving the case.
According to the association, the relevant authorities have not carried out the investigative steps necessary to clarify all circumstances related to the property. The PIO Association considers that the conduct of the institutions has been insufficient and has not led to the expected results in establishing the factual situation.
As an argument for their claims, the PIO Association points out that a criminal complaint was submitted with extensive documentation. Although the associations state that the data provided should be sufficient for further steps, the authorities have not yet taken actions that the associations consider necessary.
The statement draws a comparison with other criminal cases being handled by Croatian courts. In those cases, official records and attached documentation were sufficient to initiate proceedings, a standard the PIO Association believes should be applied to this case as well.
The association states that the same standard of procedure should be applied to the property in Strossmayer Street to ensure legal certainty and transparency.
