Police officers from the Criminal Police Directorate of the Police Directorate conducted a criminal investigation into a Croatian citizen born in 1997 on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of threats against 11 journalists and one political analyst.

The criminal investigation established that the suspect 18 October 2026 posted a collage of photographs of 11 journalists and one political analyst on a social media network, accompanied by text whose content constitutes a direct threat to the victims. The aim was to intimidate and harass the 11 journalists and one political analyst in connection with the performance of their duties.

Following the completion of the criminal investigation, the suspect was handed over to the detention officer, and the police filed a criminal complaint with the Municipal State Attorney’s Office in Split.

Unofficially, the detained individual is identified as Torcida chief secretary Ivan Rinčić. Rinčić was elected to the position of Torcida secretary in March 2023, alongside president Anto Stipetić Raba, who surrendered to the police on Tuesday over his role in the Nazi-themed parade before the Conference League match against Ajax.

In April of the same year, Rinčić was elected to the Board of Directors of Našeg Hajduka, alongside Torcida Presidency member Lucas Marino Tomas. The two replaced Anto Bakalić and Daniel Grbić. Rinčić held the duties of Torcida chief secretary and served on the Board of Directors of Našeg Hajduka in parallel for more than two years.

In June 2025, at the regular electoral Assembly, he received a unanimous discharge alongside president Dino Marković, secretary Tomislav Milardović, and Board of Directors members Lucas Marino Tomas and Miran Sušec. Luka Peko was then elected as the new president of NH, Marko Troskot as secretary, and water polo player Jerko Marinić Kragić, rugby player Luka Lerotić, and Frane Štambuk became Board members.

Rinčić found himself in the centre of attention for regional media in January of this year. At that time, 14 members of Torcida were detained in Tuzla after a mass brawl with Red Star fans near the local airport. The group of Hajduk fans in Bosnia and Herzegovina entered with the explanation that they were travelling to a humanitarian tournament in Žepče, but it later emerged that they had planned to attack a group of Red Star fans returning from Sweden after the Europa League match against Malmö.

Several cars were damaged in the conflict, and the physical altercation resulted in 23 injured people, including one police officer. Adnana Sprečić, spokesperson for the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Tuzla, stated that it was established that Red Star and Hajduk fans participated in the conflict.

According to information from the portal Federalna.ba, Rinčić was in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time of the incident. According to that information, Rinčić entered Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Kamensko border crossing on 23 January at 19.35, was registered in Bugojno the next day, and was near Tuzla Airport at 21.16. The attack on the Red Star fans took place at 21.55. Rinčić was not among the persons detained, interrogated, or placed in custody, nor among the Torcida members reported by the police for participating in the parade.
