The County State Attorney's Office in Rijeka (Općinsko državno odvjetništvo u Rijeci) has filed an indictment against two men for a series of thefts and break-ins into catering and other business premises in the areas of Kostrena, Kraljevica and Grobnik. The indictment states that in certain criminal acts, two minors at the time also participated.

The first accused is a 20-year-old from the Kostrena area, charged with six criminal offences against property and a criminal offence related to the unauthorised trade in drugs. The second accused is a 31-year-old from Rijeka, whom the prosecution charges with participating in one of the break-ins. According to the indictment, some of the thefts were committed in agreement with two participants who were minors at the time.

The group targeted cafés, beach bars, fast-food outlets, a fruit shop, a butcher's shop and the premises of a cultural association. In addition to cash, they stole alcoholic beverages, food products, electronic equipment, and even surveillance cameras.

One of the break-ins occurred at the fast-food outlet "Me Gusta" in Kostrena, where the first accused, together with two minors, accessed a double-leaf window on the south side of the building via a wooden structure. They opened the window pane with kicks, entered the interior and took 225.47 euros. The same group also targeted the service business "AS Kostrena" in the Nova voda area, where they removed the padlock from the entrance doors on the west side of the building using appropriate tools. They opened the cash register with a key and took 50 euros, then dismantled and removed three surveillance cameras. The total value of the cash and stolen cameras was estimated at 350 euros.

Both accused men and one participant who was a minor at the time participated in a break-in at business premises in Dražice. They entered the Iliana fruit shop on Podkilavačka Street by forcibly opening the aluminium doors, from where they took a Lenovo tablet with charger, ten kilograms of peaches, ten kilograms of nectarines, five kilograms of potatoes and 100 euros in coins. The total value of the stolen items and cash from the fruit shop was estimated at 1,500 euros. At the same address, the intruders also targeted the Colnar butcher's shop, from which they took 66.63 euros and four kilograms of pancetta, with the value of the stolen goods estimated at 100 euros. From the catering business Barbara, they took a deposit of 30 euros, one litre of Badel cognac, one litre of herbal liqueur, three litres of Graševina and Malvazija wine, and various packages of juices and beer, with a total value of 150 euros. The total value of the stolen items and cash during the break-ins in Dražice was 1,750 euros.

The first accused is also charged with two break-ins into catering premises in the Oštra area of Kraljevica, committed together with one participant who was a minor at the time. At the Gljiva beach bar, located within the Porto Re catering facility, they forcibly removed the protective wooden planks on the cover and made an opening through which they crawled into the interior, taking 90 euros from the cash register drawer. In the case of the La Puerta beach bar in Kamp Oštro, the intruders first forcibly opened the distribution cabinet and switched off the automatic fuse, thereby cutting off the electrical supply to the building, and then climbed onto a window bench located just over a metre above the ground to enter the storage area. They took cash from the La Puerta beach bar, with the prosecution stating the total unlawful gain was 2,000 euros.

A theft charged against the first accused also occurred in the premises of the Čakavian Assembly of Grobnišćina Department (Katedra Čakavskog sabora Grobnišćine) in the town of Grobnik, during an exhibition by the Čavle Retirees' Club. The first accused, together with one participant who was a minor at the time, took a white envelope containing 300 euros from an unlocked drawer of a work table, and removed a further 900 euros from another unlocked drawer in the same room. A total of 1,200 euros was stolen from the association's premises, and the prosecution classifies this incident as the criminal offence of theft.

The first accused is also charged with unauthorised production and trade in drugs. During proceedings at his address in Kostrena, 19.64 grams of marijuana and 15.74 grams of amphetamine were found, and the prosecution claims that the drugs found were intended for further sale. The substances found were sent for toxicological examination to the Centre for Forensic Testing, Research and Expertise "Ivan Vučetić" (Centar za forenzična ispitivanja, istraživanja i vještačenja "Ivan Vučetić"), where it was confirmed that the plant material was cannabis containing THC, while the powdery substance was identified as amphetamine. The first accused admitted to the offences during questioning.
