Police officers from the Donja Stubica Police Station attempted to stop a 26-year-old motorcyclist in Oroslavje yesterday at around 12.30, but he ignored their orders and continued driving towards Andraševac. During the stop, police used light and sound signals on their police vehicle.

During the escape, the motorcyclist did not use turn signals, and the motorcycle lifted its rear wheel and skidded. Upon arriving on Zimićeva Street, he turned onto a meadow, where he fell off the motorcycle onto his side due to the wheel skidding. After the fall, he attempted to flee on foot, but police officers prevented him. No one was injured in the incident.

Monitoring revealed that he was a repeat traffic offender and that he was driving with 1.87 per cent alcohol in his blood and before obtaining the right to drive motor vehicles. The driver was arrested, and his motorcycle was temporarily seized.

An indictment proposal was filed against him for failing to comply with police orders, not using turn signals, wheel skidding, driving on one wheel, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving before obtaining a driving licence.

Today at 9.00, the motorcyclist was brought to the Municipal Court in Zlatar, where he was ordered to serve 15 days of detention. He was subsequently handed over to the Zagreb Prison.
