Over the past weekend, two misdemeanours of disturbing public order and peace were recorded in the Međimurje (Međimurje County) area. One related to insulting police officers in Palinovac, and the other to keeping animals unsupervised.

In the night from Thursday to Friday, 15 to 16 October, around midnight, police officers from the Prelog (Prelog) Police Station were acting in front of a hospitality venue in Palinovac. They intervened following a report from the venue's owner about problems with a guest who was under the influence of alcohol.

During the intervention, a 41-year-old used derogatory words to insult the police officers. He refused a breath test and paid no attention to warnings or orders to stop such behaviour.

Due to persistent non-compliance with orders, police officers arrested him using force measures and brought him to the Prelog Police Station. Police established that he was a repeat offender of identical misdemeanours against public order and peace. The man is from Palinovac.

For insulting police officers, the 41-year-old was brought, on a proposed charge, to the Misdemeanour Department of the Čakovec (Čakovec) Municipal Court. The duty judge accepted the police proposal and ordered his detention for up to 15 days. After questioning, he was transferred to the Varaždin (Varaždin) Prison.

The misdemeanour was committed under Article 17 of the Misdemeanours Act against Public Order and Peace.
