The incident occurred in the early hours in the settlement of Strahoninec. According to the Međimurje Police Directorate, the incident took place on Prva May Street, where police officers intervened to restore order in that part of the town.

It was established that the 35-year-old man caused disturbance in the vicinity. The man was shouting in public, which further amplified the noise in that part of the town. In addition to the shouting, the 35-year-old man played loud music, which further contributed to the disruption and disturbance for residents present in the vicinity at the time.

Following the arrival of police officers at the scene, the 35-year-old man continued with inappropriate behaviour. Instead of heeding instructions, the man began to abuse the police officers conducting the intervention. Such behaviour is considered a serious offence against public order, particularly as it was directed at officials while they were performing their duties.

The Međimurje Police Directorate stated that proceedings had been initiated against the 35-year-old man for disturbing the peace. The case has been reported to the competent court, and he will answer for his actions before the law. Police emphasised that any form of violence and abuse towards officials is unacceptable and will be sanctioned.
