Officers from the Biograd Police Station brought a 27-year-old Czech citizen to the Misdemeanour Department of the Municipal Court in Zadar. The man was brought before the court with a misdemeanor complaint for disturbing the public order and peace; after the hearing, he was found guilty and fined.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 9 August, at around 19.15 on Soline beach in Biograd. According to available information, the foreign national pushed pasters and other citizens who were on the beach, thereby disturbing the public order and peace.
During the incident, the 27-year-old was holding a folding knife in his hand. Police officers reacted after receiving a report and arrested the man. Breathalyser tests established that he was under the significant influence of alcohol, with a measured concentration of 2.70 per mille.
Following the arrest, the man was placed in police custody. Misdemeanour proceedings were carried out against him for an offence under the Misdemeanours Act against public order and peace. Additionally, proceedings were initiated for an offence under the Act on the Acquisition and Possession of Weapons by Citizens due to possession of a knife.
After the completion of the misdemeanour proceedings and the hearing, the judge issued a decision establishing guilt. As a sanction for the committed offences, the court imposed a fine.
