Officers from the Šibenik Traffic Police Station arrested a 21-year-old in Murter after he was caught riding a moped in the wrong direction during a night-time traffic check. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on 8 August, and police found that the driver was not wearing the required, homologated, and properly fastened protective helmet.
It was established that the driver was operating a moped with Šibenik registration plates under the influence of alcohol, with a measured concentration of 1.70 per mille. Due to the high level of intoxication, the young man was immediately removed from traffic, arrested, and held in special police facilities until the effects of the intoxicant subsided.
After completing the necessary procedures, the police brought the driver to the Disputes Department of the Municipal Court in Šibenik (Općinski sud u Šibeniku). During the proceedings, the police proposed imposing a fine of 1,700 euros and a protective measure banning the driving of motor vehicles in category AM for a period of 4 months.
The court fully accepted the police proposal and imposed a fine of 1,700 euros on the 21-year-old. Additionally, the judge ordered a protective measure banning him from driving motor vehicles in category AM for a period of four months.
