Sun Association and the Krka Association in Knin will continue to implement educational STEM activities for children and young people in October 2026. The activities are carried out as part of the 'Let's Sail the STEM Waters – Ticket for 2030' project, whose aim is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations through educational workshops and public events.

The project aims to stimulate children and young people's interest, curiosity and positive attitude towards STEM, linking science with themes of environmental protection and the conservation of marine and river ecosystems. As part of the project, free STEM workshops will be held in October, with detailed information on dates and locations available in the October 2026 Events Calendar on the Sun Association Split website.

A public event, A.4.1 STEM promotion: 'Sea in the Palm – Science beneath the surface', will also take place as part of the Exchange Fair. The event is scheduled for 6 October at the address: Šperun, Jerina 1, 21000 Split, from 18:00 to 18:45.

Parents are invited to register their primary and secondary school-age children for the free STEM workshops. Registration is possible via the PUBLIC CALL for expressions of interest in the STEM workshops, with participants required to complete a registration form. The number of places is limited, and in the event of greater interest, selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

A series of activities is planned within the framework of the two-year project, which will enhance the capacity of civil society organisations and provide children and students with a unique opportunity to learn through a STEM approach. The project activities began with training, knowledge transfer and inspiration for project partners.

The project leader is the Sun Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development, with partners including the Krka Association in Knin, the University of Split, the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, the University of Split, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Elementary School 'Patriotic Gratitude', the Elementary School DOBRI and the Croatian Chemical Engineers and Technologists Association Split.

The 'Let's Sail the STEM Waters – Ticket for 2030' project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), within the framework of the 'Effective Human Resources 2021–2027' programme, based on the Call for 'Strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations for the promotion of STEM'. The call aims to improve the capacity of civil society organisations to develop and implement educational activities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The project is also co-financed by the Office for Associations of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
