The project “Sailing the STEM Waters – Map for 2030” continues in November 2026 with the implementation of educational STEM activities. As part of the project, a public event will be held, one segment of which is activity A.4.1, titled “STem and STudents – project presentation”.
Activity A.4.1 takes place on 27 November at Ruđera Boškovića 35 in Split, in the atrium in front of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Split, from 13:00 to 16:00. This activity is part of the event “Sustainable Black Friday at KTF: swap or give things a new life”.
Participation in the workshops is entirely free, and registration is possible via a public call for expressions of interest in participating in STEM workshops. To participate, it is necessary to complete a registration form, and the number of places is limited. In the event of high interest, selection will be made based on the time of registration, i.e. on a “first come, first served” basis.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations through education, the design and implementation of STEM workshops and public events for children and young people. The activities aim to stimulate interest, curiosity and a positive attitude towards the STEM field among children and young people, linking science with topics of environmental protection and the preservation of marine and river ecosystems.
During November, educational and interactive activities continue, giving children and young people the opportunity to explore, experiment, ask questions and solve practical tasks. Through the activities, they explore phenomena related to the sea, rivers and the environment, and through practical work learn how to connect science with everyday life.
The project also includes the continuous strengthening of the capacity of civil society organisations involved in its implementation. An important part takes place through the professional development of educators and organisation representatives, who have participated in various trainings, study visits and fairs dedicated to new methods of learning and teaching STEM subjects.
The project holder is the Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development Sunce, and it is implemented by the Sunce Association and the Ecological Association “Krka” Knin. Partners on the project are the Ecological Association “Krka” Knin, the University of Split, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Split, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Homeland Gratitude Primary School, the DOBRI Primary School and the Association of Chemical Engineers and Technologists Split.
The project “Sailing the STEM Waters – Map for 2030” is co-financed with funds from the European Union from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), within the framework of the “Efficient Human Capital 2021 – 2027” Programme. It is based on the Call for “Strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations for the promotion of STEM”, and is co-financed by the Office for Associations of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
