The University of Split (FESB) has successfully implemented a project titled "Digital plan", whose main goal was to develop advanced digital solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of civil protection. The project was implemented through mutual cooperation and exchange of experience between Italy and Croatia, and lasted from 1 April 2024 to 30 August 2026.
The key outcome of this effort is the development of a dedicated platform, "Digital plan", which is designed for the digitisation of civil protection plans. In addition to facilitating document management, the platform enables a modernised approach to risk management and emergency response, thereby raising the level of safety for citizens.
As part of the project implementation, specific tools such as the "IoT wallet" platform were developed, which is used for sensor management, and the "IoT EDSS" platform. The latter is intended to support monitoring of the environment and support decision-making during crisis situations. The development of these technologies has enabled more precise monitoring of conditions and faster response to potential hazards.
In addition to the technical aspect, the project included a significant educational component. Detailed educational materials, including five thematic modules, were prepared, which are intended for experts and users of the system. A webinar and training for local trainers were also held as part of the project, ensuring the knowledge required for the independent use of the new tools. A video material was also prepared for users, helping them to more easily understand and use the developed systems.
The total value of the project was EUR 2,665.72, indicating a targeted and economical use of funds allocated for the improvement of safety and the protection of the population through modern digital technologies.
