Primorje-Gorska County has begun the implementation of a project worth nearly €1.5 million. The project, titled 'Improvement of primary and specialist healthcare in Primorje-Gorska County – Group 1', has a total value of 1,498,312 euros.
Of this amount, €1,424,343.31, or 95 per cent of the project's value, is funded by non-repayable funds. The remaining five per cent will be covered by the County itself. The project is scheduled to run until the end of 2027.
The Institute of Health is set to receive a total of 275 new pieces of equipment, the majority of which will be located in the outpatient clinics of family medicine and specialist departments. The equipment will be distributed across 34 healthcare facilities in the areas of Gorski Kotar, Klana, Jelovnik, Čavle, Matulji, and Novi Vinodolski. Among the significant purchases is a new X-ray machine for Delnice, valued at approximately €200,000, as well as a gynaecological ultrasound and a mammography unit. In Čabar, the development of telemedicine services in cardiology and ophthalmology is planned.
A portion of the project, valued at €143,700, is allocated to the Institute of Emergency Medicine of Primorje-Gorska County and its branches in Delnice, Čabar, and Vrbovsko. The plan includes the purchase of three new defibrillators, three automated chest compression devices, and a device for rapid blood analysis at the scene. The project also includes the purchase of two electric vehicles for the patronage service of the Delnice Health Centre.
In addition to equipment, the project provides accessible information materials for blind and visually impaired persons, as well as for those with mental disabilities, and additional training for healthcare professionals. The lead partner for the project is the Primorje-Gorska County, with the Institute of Health, the Institute of Emergency Medicine, and the Regional Development Agency Prigoda participating in the implementation.
This is the first group of the project, and it is announced that further investments will follow, covering other parts of the county not included in this phase.
